Overview
TAI performed the detailed design and shipyard support of the construction of 370’x59’x14’ NYNJR200 which carries up to 18 standard 60’ railcars for New York New Jersey Rail LLC, a short-haul railroad operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. TAI integrated the hull design with the rail car stowage equipment and verified the deck strength to ensure the payload can be carried.
TAI prepared complete detailed Working Drawings, as described in and in accordance with ABS ‘Rules for Building and Classing Steel Vessels for Service on Rivers and Intracoastal Waterways’ (2014 Edition or as may be revised) for ABS Approval for Classification. Construct two Carfloats to the structural requirements of the ABS ‘Rules for Building and Classing Steel Vessels for Service on Rivers and Intracoastal Waterways’ (2014 Edition, or as may be revised) and under ABS survey, as per Contract Drawings, these Specifications and Contract Documents. TAI coordinated with ABS and Authority’s Engineer for shop fabrication/ construction inspections by the ABS Surveyor and Authority’s Engineer. TAI coordinated with customer engineers to address any requests for information as required by the contract documents. TAI provided a construction schedule that meets the project goals to be reviewed and approved by the Authority’s Engineer. TAI Provided As-Built Record Drawings for each Carfloat, inclusive of all fabrication, construction, and components incorporated into the Carfloat.
